Jessica and Christian live in Northern California and wanted to get married in Orange County. Christian is a landscape architect thus lending to their organic & natural theme with Jessica’s desire for a whimsical and romantic flair. Their palette was all variations of green with pops of blush and lavender. Their style is very down-to-earth, so they were seeking a venue that was outdoors, very green, unique, and in a natural setting with warmth & plenty of intimate spaces. Upon touring the Environmental Nature Center with them, I knew right away that we had found the perfect location to hold their go-green wedding celebration. Everything used at the Nature Center must be compostable and they both LOVED that idea! After marrying at the Nature Center’s Creek River, they lead their family and guests over the creek’s bridge on a memory walk through the Center’s fifteen native California ecosystems with photos of them dangling from the trees sharing the story of their lives together. The story-walk ended on the Center’s well designed event patio just in time to start celebrating with cocktails and music! Later in the evening everyone gathered around the famous fire pit for Smores! The organic details of this event were evident everywhere from the burlap aisle runner to the usage of natural twines and sisal. We even used the Center’s natural wood potter’s tables for all the special festivities. As their wedding day unfolded, memories were made that I know Jessica and Christian will treasure forever. ~ Maria Lindsay
